Listening with Cracolândia
A sound piece composed from the sound archive of the project “De-inhabiting Listening: Listening in Dispute in Cracolândia” and from affective reports from listening produced by the artist-researchers

Soundscapes, voices, music, and memories intertwine to give resonance to the complex realities of people living in conditions of extreme social vulnerability and who are systematically silenced. Created in 2025, the piece unfolds from the project “De-inhabiting Listening: Listening in Dispute in Cracolândia,” in which artistic practice and critical reflection jointly activate an investigative process that listens attentively to a territory marked by abyssal contrasts and invites the experience of other ways of listening to relationships and conflicts among people, places, and contexts.
The piece was released on the program “Walk So Silently That the Bottoms of Your Feet Become Ears,” on Fango Radio, curated by Vittoria Assembri and Gaia Ginevra Giorgi. [ Link ]
